Urban Decay X Gwen

A brand that I have always adored for their eyeshadows is Urban Decay, so when newbies come out I'm always intrigued. Urban Decay have recently collaborated with the beautifully stunning Gwen Stefani and create an amazing beauty lovers must have collection. They started with the gorgeous eyeshadow palette* (£40) then went on to release the most perfect blush palette I have ever seen, pretty lipsticks and more.

First impressions of the palette where incredible, as you can see it's absolutely stunning! Beautiful gold main colouring, lovely decorative touch with a UD Gwen Stefani raised name plate. I think it's the perfect size as its not too big like some of the vice palettes, much easier to take out and about with you if you needed to or for travelling.

The outer sleeve shows all the shades as they appear in the palette with their unique names, and inside the sleeve you get some lovely samples of four shades from the stunning lipstick line. My personal favourite from the lipstick range that I have tried so far is Ex-Girlfriend, a really easy to wear nude which is great for everyday wear.

Inside the palette is just as stunning as on the outside plus some. It's really easy to open with it's strong magnetic close and has an amazing mirror covering the top part of the palette, which is really useful for me.

At first glance the three bright shades on the bottom row really stand out and then the rest of the palette is really wearable neutral shades. A couple too many pale shades in my opinion, I think they could have done with switching some of them out for alternative shades but they do all have different finishes so will still get use out of them.

So on to some swatches! These are all swatched once without primer, without flash on my pale skin so you can see the true colouring of the shadow. Starting from the top row down, left to right.

A fab range of mattes, shimmers and glitter shades which can create a whole range of different looks. My personal favourite shades to create my everyday look are Skimp to start all over the lid, Anaheim as the transition colour, Punk the deepen up the crease and Pop in the centre of the lid after lots of blending.  Which are your favourite shades?

A really amazing versatile palette, only thing missing is a brush I would say to make it better for anyone wanting to use it while travelling. I have been loving using this beautiful palette and would love more from the UD Gwen range, especially the blush palette. Do let me know if you have tried any of the rest of the collection and your thoughts on them.

Urban Decay Gwen Palette can be purchased from Urban Decay online or alternatively from Debenhams at £40.

Merumaya newbie ....

Merumaya is a wonderfully brilliant skincare brand created and manufactured in the UK, who are sharing a fabulously inspirational hashtag at the moment of #beautyhasnoage, go check it out. They are a brand that has always been so super supportive of JinksyBeauty and have allowed me to test out their latest beauty launch, the Gentle Exfoliating Toner!

The Gentle Exfoliating Toner 'combines an effective concerntration of Natural AHA's with a complex of moisturising active ingredients.' It's brightening and clarifying, perfect for the removal of dead skin cells helping the skin look brighter and feel smoother.

This toner helps to refine pores and minimise blemishes, which I can definitely say has helped my skin while I have been using it. I have been using this product for the past couple of weeks ans feel my skin is 100% enjoying it. My skin feels fresh and clean after every use, and so far I haven't had any blemishes since using it. I apply by soaking a cotton pad and sweeping it across the whole of my face morning and night. It preps and primes the skin ready to absorb any treatment products.

Another Merumaya product I have been really enjoying using is the Mud Marvels Mask, if you a fan of face masks I recommend you check this out. All Merumaya skincare is as they say 'integrative effective skincare.' Which is so true, and great for even sensitive skintypes.

The Gentle Exfoliating Toner is £17.50 for 128ml and can be found on Merumaya.com, John Lewis instore and via click & collect and also on Amazon

Thank you so much again to Merumaya for letting me try this beautiful product.

My Birchbox Haul ...

I had to share with you my recent Birchbox Eshop Haul as it contains some amazing Beauty products that I know you will love too. If your not already a subscriber to Birchbox then what are you waiting for? There definitely has never been a better time to join with one of my favourite new beauty products inside every box. Stay tuned till the end of this post for a special discount code and link to gain extra points on joining...

I have been obsessed with all things from Spectrum Collections recently, they stock the most beautiful makeup brushes ever! I was so over the moon when I saw that every Birchbox this month would contain a full size brush from their amazing line.

So when I saw the Eshop had more of their amazingness I had to order them all! I ordered the 10 piece essentials set (£39.99) which contains a fab range of face and eye brushes and some individual brushes that weren't in the set to go with them. I now very much need a good cleaning pad and brush cleanser. Recommendations?

A beauty product I have always heard people raving about but never tried out myself was the Laura Mercier Honey Bath in the Ambre Vanille scent (£33.00). I love the makeup range from Laura Mercier with one of my favourite products being my Black Karat baked eyeshadow, but had never tried out any of their bath and body products.

It really does smell amazing and I can't wait to try some of this in my bath, I do feel I may use it sparingly as its a little pricey. But as all the reviews have said its worth it for the price, I'm hoping I'm going to love it also. I would love to try out their body products. Do you have any recommendations?

I do love me a foaming shower gel, with some of the Imperial Leather scents being a firm favourite in my household for myself and my kids. I have tried out a Rituals foaming shower gel in a previous Birchbox so thought I would get an alternative scent, I went for the T'ai Chi (£8.50). It's beautiful and I definitely want to try out more from this range.

Ever since I said goodbye to my old ghd straightners late last year after about ten or more years of service, I have regretted it. I thought as I had them for so long that they probably weren't working like they should do, so I got rid and brought some Mark Hill. But sadly they just didn't do the same job on my hair and I knew I needed something better. So when I spotted the T3 SinglePass straightners on the Birchbox site (£125.00), I started doing some research.

The T3 SinglePass straightening & styling iron have a fully adjustable dial allowing to pick and choose which temperature to style at, the heat goes up to 232 degrees centigrade. They have tourmaline infused plates and ceramic infrared energy that really helps add a glossy shine to my hair. Very impressed with these so far, especially as they claim to not damage the hair!

Above is a picture of my box and an example of what you could receive. If you want your very own Spectrum Collection brush with other amazing bits and pieces in a Birchbox this month then you can do, all for £6.47 including delivery. Amazing right! Even just to buy the brush it would cost more than that. And not only that you also get an extra £5 worth of points by using my link and code, giving you more than £10 worth of Birchbox points to get you started in the Eshop.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my exciting beauty haul. If you have any recommendations for anything else to try from the Birchbox shop or more, then please leave them in the comments.

The Perfect Valentines!

I'm a massive fan of Valentines Day, even though I know some aren't. I love that it's an excuse to share some love with your partner, friends or family. So I have just a few items to share that help to make a perfect Valentines complete.

Firstly you need to set the mood if your at home with an amazing candle! I have the beautifully stunning Love Bug personalised candle* by one of my favourite candle companies Flamingo Candles. This Love Bug pink glitter candles scent is described as a sweet strawberry sherbet delight, and it truly is a delight.....just look at it!

Candle = £12.00. Personalisation = £4.00. Available on flamingocandles.co.uk.

Now we have the room smelling just perfect, we need a fabulous scent for us to wear!

The Leighton Denny in Light & Dark Lively* is a unisex fragrance making it perfectly shareable for everyone. Its a warm and spicy scent with a beautiful shaped bottle complete with a faceted bottle top as seen here.

Light & Dark Lively is described as a day time scent, which I think for a man is correct but as its so spicy I think it would be more ideal for a lady of a nighttime. Perfect for a valentines evening! It's top notes of citrus blend well into warm spicy nutmeg, ginger, cardamom and pepper.

Lively can be purchased on ld-boutique.com for £43.50 (70ml).

Now the place and everybody are smelling great, us ladies need to be looking our best! So the next must have is a stunning lipstick...

The Glo & Ray La Amo creamy shimmer lip colour in Honey* is a perfect romantic pinky nude to make out lips look full and plump without too much overpowering colour. This lipstick is super creamy as the name would suggest, which feels comfortable on the lips without any tackiness or drying.

The lipstick bullet itselfs looks incredible with its vibrant red colour and has some heavy weight to it adding to the luxury feel of this product. The full range is available on glo-ray.co.uk

La Amo lipstick £12.00.

Now your ready to enjoy you evening! Don't forget some sneaky snacks for later! My favourite newbie is the Galaxy Golden Eggs, I adore these best straight from the fridge but do be careful of your teeth if you do do this! Don't want any dentist trips on my head! Haha

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope this gives you so inspiration for the big day tomorrow. Have fun!

See you soon.

Best beauty box?! Birchbox

For me one of the most exciting Beauty box announcements so far this year was that every subsciber of Birchbox would be receiving a Full Size Spectrum Collections beautiful makeup brush this month. I have been lusting over these amazing brushes for a while now and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw they had joined forces with Birchbox.

Everyone received the same brush which is the Tapered powder brush worth £7.99. It's the perfect brush, not too small and not too big. It can be used for so many uses like applying highlight or bronzer, a setting powder or I would even use it for my contour. It's the most beautiful and sturdy brush, even more perfect to look at in person. I adore the light pink handle with magnificent turquoise and purple bristles that are super soft.

As Birchbox subscribers we also have access to purchasing more of these amazing brushes... I might have already made a purchase with my points!!! Look out on my social media for when they arrive. Stay tuned til the end of this post for an amazing discount and code.

This months box contains some incredible brands! I am loving that I received an Ole Henriksen truth serum collagen booster, a really great skincare brand. I have heard so many great things about this brand and this serum. It's a potent vitamin C complex that helps with fine lines, plump skin and protects which definitely something I need as I suffer with expression lines across my forehead. Full size of this retails for £47.

Birchbox have created their own makeup brand called LOC which stands for Love of Color. In ever subscribers box this month they would have a metallic shadow stick in either the shadow Perfect Cents (mine) or a silvery taupe in Champayne Problems. We could pick which shade we wanted for this box, but I was so indecisive that I couldn't pick so I just left it to see which I would receive.

This shadow stick is perfect for a quick makeup look and can be used all over the eye lid or under the bottom lashes. It's lovely and creamy, great to apply. RRP £8.00. More shades and lip products from the LOC range can be purchased via the Birchbox Eshop.

The Balm frat boy can be used either as a eyeshadow or a blush. Personally for me I wouldn't use it as an eyeshadow as I'm not keen on pink eye looks on myself. But it's a beautiful blusher, super pigmented so can be used lightly or more heavier if you wish. Full size RRP £15.50.

My beauty bonus this month was the Derm Eyes makeup remover wipe in a handy sachet. I'm rather intrigued to try this out as I think it's a great idea, if you where staying over somewhere the night it would be a great quick alternative to taking aload of skincare away with you. It would also be fab for people who travel on planes. A box of these is £9.50.

And lastly the Cochine water hyacinth and lime blossom body lotion. This has a rather strong scent and can be applied to hands or body. I have applied it to my hands and found it to be rather cooling and refreshing. Full size RRP £19.00

So I'm sure you will agree it's a rather impressive box, with the the highlight being the amazing brush.

If you want to sign up to Birchbox then click here through my link which will gain you £5 extra Birchbox points (You will also receive points from the product surveys). And also the best bit, if you use this link and put in the code HAPPYDAYS it will also gain you a half price box! How ace is that. So you will pay £6.47 total including postage. Even if you buy it just for the brush it's so worth it.

Thanks. Karen x JinksyBeauty x
